The Road Ahead (and behind)

After a little bit of down time, it's finally time to get back to Thera!

The year 2020 was a bit of a mess. I think we can all agree. The last few months for me have involved a bit of unemployment, a bit of homelessness, an international move, an interstate move, and over 1500 miles in a U-Haul. The upheaval of leaving Vancouver after four years caused a bit of chaos, and priorities were unavoidably shuffled about. The unfortunate consequence was that Thera was mitigated to the bottom of my list, as unemployment and homelessness became bigger problems to deal with.

OK, so...I wasn't really homeless. I didn't have a place to call my own anymore, but I did have a place to stay. I was crashing with a friend in Santa Monica while looking for a new job. (If you're going to be homeless, Santa Monica is the place to do it.)

Santa Monica pier at sunset.

Now, three months later, I'm at a new job  and have moved into a new place. The job is remote, so I was able to basically live anywhere I wanted. So...why not move to Vegas?! OK, maybe not actually in Vegas. But the Vegas strip is about 20 mins from my apartment...it's pretty close. There are slot machines in the Target down the street (not really).

Anyway... What all this means for Thera is this:  Now that things are finally squared away and more or less back to normal for me, I'll be able to focus on Thera again! My computer is back up and my home office is nearly completely unpacked. It's time to get back to work! A long, hard journey in real ife is behind me, but another long journey through the world of Thera still lies ahead. There's going to be lots of updates and news in the coming days, weeks and months. Exciting stuff is coming. So stay tuned!

Below are some images from my travels.

Come on, onewheel. Time to go. Bye bye Vancouver...

Loaded up. All the way.

Driving a U-Haul down the west coast.

Moving into the new place.

Some great reference for landscapes out here!

Tried to do some trail riding on the onewheel.
