Marlene
An overachieving student enrolled in one of the toughest physics departments in the country. Not a good situation for someone who doesn't handle stress very well. When things get tough, she runs. Literally. A run through the forest in a nearby park is often enough to settle her nerves when she is stressed out. But on one fateful jog, Marlene will find an amulet which will transport her to the world of Thera, a parallel dimension governed by magic. She will learn the fate of Thera and Earth are in her hands. This is a problem a run through the park won't solve.

Marlene has no Theran counterpart. At least none that we know of. Why is a mystery, but this might be why she is able to travel between worlds.
Professor
Lyons
A brilliant theoretical physicist who believes he's cracked the mystery of space and time. But when no one will take his work seriously, he decides to build his own machine to test his theories. Fortunately, the university funded his research. Unfortunately, he is reaching the end of his funds without a working prototype. The university is demanding something to show for the high cost of his research. His job and reputation are on the line.
Leo
Leo is a high ranking member of the Theran Order. A recent prophecy has foretold of impending doom. An ancient evil, long thought destroyed, will return to Thera. Buried in the prophecy is the potential key to victory. Leo believes an amulet enchanted with mysterious runes found within the prophecy will save Thera. But upon completion of the amulet, it disappeared completely! Now he has nothing to show for all this work and the Theran Order is demanding answers. His position in the Order is in jeopardy.
James
Born into a humble family, James has always felt compelled to reach for the stars. His dream is to play lead guitar in a rock band. In the age of digital music, the odds may be against him. He currently settles for gigs at college bars, but his big break is just around the corner, and when it comes, he'll be ready. James lives by one simple rule: Never give up.

But with no money for weapons or training, qualifying for a tournament will be difficult enough, let alone being able to place among the finalists to earn a position. The odds are against him, but James lives by one simple rule: Never give up.
Rex
A star player on the football team. He's a terrific athlete, but not the best student. He would rather be training than studying. Unfortunately, a recent drop in his GPA has his eligibility on the team in danger. A mutually beneficial agreement with Professor Lyons will save his GPA, secure his place on the squad, and will also secure his place in the story of Thera.
Rex
A brave warrior whose skill in combat is surpassed only perhaps by his appetite. His quest for a sword great enough to match his skill led him to Leo of the Theran Order -- an expert in the field of object enchantment. Although Rex sought out Leo's services, Leo will come to lean heavily on Rex's unmatched skills in combat. Rex's greatest challenge is still before him, and the fate of all of Thera will hang in the balance.
